Questions and answers

66 answers, every one taken from how Clip Viral actually works rather than how it is meant to. If something here turns out to be wrong, tell us and we will fix the answer and the thing it describes.

Making a video

›

How long does it take to make a video?

The app shows an estimate before you start: about 4 minutes for a 30-second Motion Lite video, 5 minutes for Storyboard and 17 minutes for Motion Pro. Longer videos take longer in proportion, so a 5-minute Storyboard video is about 54 minutes. No video is ever quoted under 2 minutes.

›

What happens if I close my browser while a video is being made?

Nothing is lost. Your video is put in a queue and built on our servers, not in your browser, so it carries on whether your browser is open, asleep or closed. If other people are creating at the same time yours may wait its turn, because the server builds three videos at once.

›

What is the difference between Storyboard, Motion Lite and Motion Pro?

Motion Lite uses real stock footage with camera moves and is the cheapest at 60 credits for 30 seconds. Storyboard draws every scene as a picture in the style you chose and moves it gently, at 132 credits for 30 seconds. Motion Pro generates genuine AI video for every scene and costs 321 credits for the same 30 seconds. Every price includes the title, description, tags, hashtags and thumbnail.

›

What size and quality do the videos come out at?

You pick the shape before you start: tall 1080x1920, square 1080x1080, or wide 1920x1080, all at 30 frames a second. On Motion Pro the AI footage itself is made at 720p and scaled up into that frame, which is what keeps the price down but makes it a little softer than true 1080p.

›

How long can my video be?

You can choose 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 180 or 300 seconds. Motion Pro is capped at 60 seconds, so the longer choices disappear as soon as you pick it.

›

Do videos come with captions, and can I choose how they look?

Yes. Every video gets word-by-word captions burned into the picture, timed to the narration, and on the Create page you pick from 13 caption styles, each shown as it will actually appear — bold capitals, a lower-third documentary line, a box behind the spoken word, a neon glow, one word at a time, and more. There is also a "No captions" choice if you would rather have none. The card you pick is drawn in the same font and colours the finished video uses. Series still use the look that comes with the niche; choosing per series is not available yet.

›

What voices can I choose, and do they cost extra?

You choose male or female and get a natural-sounding voice in your language; 15 languages have both, and any other language is narrated by the English voice. The voice costs nothing extra and is not part of your price. Rhyme videos are sung rather than spoken, and that adds 24 credits to the price, or 96 credits for Punjabi.

›

What happens if my video fails part way through?

You are not charged: credits are only taken once the finished video exists. The system retries on its own, up to three attempts, and a job that stalls for 20 minutes is picked up again. If all three attempts fail the video is marked Failed and nothing has been deducted.

Video styles

›

How many video styles are there, and what are they?

There are 18. They are Photorealism, Realistic, Dark Cartoon, Graphic Novel, Anime Pastoral, Modern Anime, 3D Anime, Short Film, Black and White, 2D Cartoon, 3D Cartoon, Horror 2D Cartoon, Horror 3D Cartoon, Infographic, Claymation, Watercolour, Neon Noir and Warm Storybook.

›

What is the difference between a style and a niche?

A style is how the video looks: drawn, filmed, painted, monochrome. A niche is what it is about and how it is written, like True Crime or Space, and it brings its own research sources, script rules and caption look. You choose both, and one does not change the other.

›

Do all 18 styles work in every mode?

No. All 18 work in Storyboard and Motion Lite, but only five work in Motion Pro: Photorealism, Realistic, Dark Cartoon, Short Film and Black and White. The other thirteen are left out because generated video cannot hold a drawn look steady across a clip, and the picker greys out any style your chosen mode cannot make.

›

Which styles use real filmed footage instead of drawn pictures?

Four can: Photorealism, Realistic, Short Film and Black and White, and only when you choose Motion Lite. In that one combination your scenes are real stock clips filmed by real people and found by keyword, which is why Motion Lite is 60 credits for 30 seconds, against 132 credits for a 30-second Storyboard video where every picture is drawn.

›

What does real stock footage mean for my video?

It means real motion and real people, but the clips already exist, so they match your scene by keyword rather than being made for it. A drawn style is made to order for each scene and matches your script more closely, but it is a picture with camera movement, not filmed video.

›

Does every scene in one video use the same style?

Yes. One style is chosen for the whole video, and the same style wording is added to every single scene before its picture is made, with a matching colour grade laid over the finished cut. You cannot mix two styles in one video.

›

Can I change the style after the video is made?

No. The style is fixed when you start a video, and editing a series lets you change its name, topic, length, schedule and end date but not its style. To get a different look you make a new video, which is charged as a new video.

›

Are the sample clips on the styles page real videos from Clip Viral?

Yes. Each of the 18 four-second clips was made by the same code that makes your video, with the same style wording, the same image model, the same grade, captions and transitions. They were last remade on 21 September 2026.

›

Are the videos on the homepage real?

Yes. Each one was made by Clip Viral itself, on the company's own account, with no edits beyond what the product does automatically.

›

Will my video always look exactly like the style I picked?

The medium always holds: pick Watercolour and you get a painting, pick Claymation and you get clay. The mood can soften when the scene pulls the other way, though; testing on 21 September 2026 found a dark style on a bright, cheerful scene coming back lighter than expected. If mood matters to you, keep the topic and the style pointing the same direction.

Niches and scripts

›

How many niches can I choose from, and what are they?

There are 29 ready-made niches. Twenty-eight are spoken — Reddit Stories, Scary Stories, Today I Learned, True Crime, History, Space & Astronomy, Psychology, Science Explained, Food Origins, Travel, Sports Moments, Mythology, Inventions and more — and the twenty-ninth is Rhymes, which is sung instead of spoken.

›

What if my subject isn't on the list? Can I use my own?

Yes. On the create form, tap "+ My own niche" and type your subject, such as "restoring vintage motorcycles". Clip Viral then writes to your description instead of a ready-made niche, using the same real sources (Wikipedia and Google News) and the same writing rules as every other niche.

›

Where do the facts in my video come from, and does anyone check them?

Most niches are written from Wikipedia and Google News, and the two story niches pull real Reddit posts. Each video is given at most three sources, and the writer is told to use only what they say and cut anything they do not support — but no person and no second step checks the finished script, so read it before you post. The sources it used are listed on your video's page so you can click through and see for yourself.

›

Can I write the script myself, or set the opening line?

Yes. In the Idea / script to video tool, choose "I have a script" and paste it: Clip Viral uses your words exactly as you wrote them for the narration, then adds the pictures, voice, captions, music and your logo, and gives you the finished video. Prefer to start from an idea? Pick an angle and reword the opening line, which is then used word for word as the first thing the video says.

›

Which languages can my videos be in?

Spoken videos can be made in 15 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, Turkish and Vietnamese. Rhymes can be sung in 31, including Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu, Swahili and Māori. The script is written in that language from the start rather than translated afterwards, and the captions follow the voice.

›

What is the Rhymes niche?

Rhymes makes original sing-along songs for children aged about 2 to 6 — actually sung by a song model rather than read by a voice — with simple cartoon pictures. Every rhyme is written fresh, so it will never sing a traditional nursery rhyme, and there is no background music because the song is the music. The song costs extra: a 30-second rhyme in Motion Lite is 84 credits instead of 60.

›

If I run a series, will two videos end up being about the same thing?

If you typed a topic when you set the series up, every video in it is about that same topic. If you left the topic blank, each run picks at random from that niche's list of subject areas (or a trending item that matches the niche) and does not remember what the earlier videos covered, so the same subject can come round again. Only News channels are given a list of what they have already covered and told to move on to something new.

Credits and payment

›

How much is a credit worth?

One credit is one US cent, so 500 credits cost US$5 when you top up. A 30-second video is 60 credits on Motion Lite, 132 credits on Storyboard, or 321 credits on Motion Pro, each including the title, description, tags, hashtags and thumbnail. Every tool shows you its credit price before you start.

›

What do the plans cost, and how many credits do I get?

Starter is US$9 a month for 900 credits, Creator is US$29 for 3,300 credits, and Pro is US$99 for 12,000 credits. Starter gives you exactly what you pay for; Creator and Pro give you more credits than the price (US$33 and US$120 of credits). You can only hold one of these three at a time.

›

What are the Premium and Daily Channel plans?

Premium is US$499.99 a month and gives you 4 AI Video Editor videos, but it's shown as coming soon and isn't open for purchase yet. Daily Channel is US$49 a month, open now, and makes you one finished video a day on a subject we look up fresh — pick from twenty-two ready-made subjects or write your own. Neither one includes any credits, and neither unlocks the other tools.

›

Which of Starter, Creator or Pro is the best value?

Pro. All three unlock the same locked tools, so the only difference between them is credits for your money: Starter's 900 credits cost exactly its US$9 price, Creator's 3,300 credits are worth US$33 for US$29, and Pro's 12,000 credits are worth US$120 for US$99 — the biggest plan is also the cheapest per credit.

›

If I'm on Pro, can I add Premium's AI Video Editor without losing my Pro credits?

Premium isn't open for purchase yet (it's shown as coming soon), but once it is: Premium is billed and held separately from Starter, Creator and Pro, so adding it won't cancel or replace your credit plan — you'll keep your Pro credits and gain Premium's 4 AI Video Editor videos a month on top. Only Starter, Creator and Pro replace each other when you switch between them; Premium (and Daily Channel) can be held alongside any one of them.

›

How much can I top up, and does any top-up include a bonus?

You can top up with US$5, US$10, US$25 or US$50. The first three give you exactly 1 credit per cent (500, 1,000 and 2,500 credits). Only the US$50 top-up has a bonus: 5,250 credits instead of 5,000.

›

What do I get free when I sign up?

An account with a verified email address (signed in with Google or Apple) gets 300 free credits, once. That is about five 30-second Motion Lite videos, or one 30-second Storyboard video. Free credits cannot be spent on AI clipping, Series autopilot, Quick Edit, Pro songs, long songs or vocal splitting: those unlock with your first plan or top-up.

›

Do my credits expire?

Top-up credits last 12 months from the day you buy them. Your 300 free welcome credits never expire. Plan credits are the exception: they only last until the end of the billing month they came with.

›

What happens to plan credits I don't use by the end of the month?

They are cleared when your billing month ends, and your new month's credits arrive in their place. Plan credits do not roll over. When you spend, we always take from whichever credits run out soonest, so your plan credits are used before your top-up credits.

›

Am I charged if a video fails?

No. Credits are only taken after the video has finished and is ready to watch, so a failed run costs you nothing. The amount is worked out from what the video actually cost to make, including the render, so the final charge can be a bit higher than the price quoted on the form.

›

How do I cancel my plan?

Go to Credits & billing and open the billing page, where you can cancel, change your card and download your invoices. Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you have already paid for. That month's plan credits still expire when the month ends, so use them first.

›

What happens when I switch plans?

Moving up to a more expensive plan charges the card already on your account straight away, for the difference for the rest of this month, and your extra credits land immediately — there is no separate payment page, just a one-time confirmation before it happens. Moving down to a cheaper plan charges nothing now: you keep this month's credits and the lower price starts at your next renewal. You can hold one of Starter, Creator or Pro at a time, so switching replaces the one you have rather than adding a second plan.

›

What currency am I billed in?

Everything is charged in US dollars, wherever you live. The price includes any GST we have to charge. If your card is in another currency, your own bank may add a conversion fee on top.

›

Can I get a refund?

Credits you have already used and plan months that have already started are not refunded, unless the law requires it or we made a billing mistake. If we do refund a top-up in full, any of those credits still sitting in your account are removed at the same time.

Series and posting

›

What is a series, and how often can it make videos?

A series is a setup you save once — niche, style, length, voice, language — and Clip Viral makes one video from it on a repeat schedule. You can choose every 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 hours, once a day, or every 2 days, and the first video is made straight away rather than at the next slot. You can set it to run for 10, 30, 60 or 180 days, or leave it running until you pause it.

›

How do I pause or stop a series?

Press Pause on the series page and it stops making new videos straight away; Resume counts from the last video it made, not from the moment you pressed the button, so you never get two at once. Delete removes the series for good and keeps every video it already made in your library. One thing to know: a video that was already finished and queued to post can still go out, so turn posting off as well if you want absolutely everything to stop.

›

Which social accounts can Clip Viral post to for me?

Only a Facebook Page and an Instagram professional account that is linked to that Page. TikTok and YouTube are not supported for automatic posting — Clip Viral can make videos sized for them, but you download those and post them yourself.

›

Can I turn on automatic posting right now?

Not yet. Posting to your own Facebook Page and Instagram is built and working, but it is waiting on Meta's app review, and it stays switched off for customer accounts until that comes back. Until then you won't see the posting options at all, and your series videos simply wait in your library for you.

›

Do videos wait for my approval before they are posted?

No. If a series is set to post, each video joins the posting queue the moment it is finished and goes out shortly after, with the title, description and hashtags already written for it. If you want to check videos first, leave posting switched off and they wait in your library until you post them yourself.

›

What happens if I disconnect my Facebook account?

Every one of your series stops posting, and anything still sitting in the queue is cancelled — disconnecting is treated as "stop posting for me". Posts that already went out stay on your Page and in your history, but their view and like counts stop updating, because there is no longer a connection to read them with.

›

What does a series cost to run?

A series is charged the normal price for each video it makes, in credits, where 1 credit is 1 US cent: a 30-second video is 60 credits on Motion Lite, 132 credits on a drawn Storyboard style, or 321 credits on Motion Pro. Longer videos cost more, because they are more pictures and more rendering. Multiply that by how many videos your schedule makes — one 30-second Motion Lite video a day for 30 days is 1,800 credits. Posting costs nothing extra, and if you run out of credit the series pauses itself rather than stopping mid-video.

›

Can I run more than one series at a time?

Yes — the series page has a "Start another" button and there is no limit on how many you run. Each series has its own schedule and pays for its own videos, so three daily series cost three times as much as one. When automatic posting is on, Clip Viral leaves at least an hour between posts on the same Page or Instagram account, so several series never bunch up on your followers.

Your own voices

›

What is "My voices", and where can I use a voice I make?

My voices is its own page, reached from the account menu, listing every voice you've designed or cloned. Each one is then offered as a narrator anywhere Clip Viral asks you to choose a voice: Create, a series, a Daily Channel, a stand-alone voice-over, or a dub.

›

How do I get my own voice, and what does it cost?

Two ways, both from the My voices page. Describe it in words and Clip Viral designs one, for 900 credits (US$9); or upload a recording and it clones that voice, for 450 credits. Either is a one-off charge — the voice is then yours, to use as many times as you like.

›

Is there a minimum recording length or file size for cloning a voice?

At least 10 seconds of one person speaking, somewhere quiet, as an MP3, WAV or M4A file under 50 MB. Room noise and music make the copy worse, which is why there's also a "clean up background noise" option before you upload.

›

Do I need the speaker's permission to clone a voice?

Yes, always. You confirm it's your own voice, or that you have the speaker's permission, before cloning starts — copying someone's voice without asking is against the law in a growing number of places, and accounts that do it get closed.

›

What happens if the speech engine deletes a voice I made?

It shouldn't: the engine that holds your voice removes anything unused for 7 days, so Clip Viral quietly speaks a word with yours before that happens to keep it alive. If the engine ever drops it anyway, Clip Viral rebuilds it from the recording it kept — at Clip Viral's cost, not yours — and you'll see it marked "Being rebuilt" in the meantime.

›

Can I delete a voice I made, and is it really gone?

Yes, from the My voices page, and it cannot be undone. Deleting removes your recording and Clip Viral's own record of the voice straight away. The speech engine's own copy, which nothing but Clip Viral can reach, is left to expire on its own within 7 days, since the engine has no delete call of its own.

›

How do I know which voice narrated a finished video?

Open the video's own page — it names the voice next to its other details: a Clip Viral voice by name, or your own voice's name followed by "(yours)". This only shows for videos made since 5 October 2026; older ones don't carry the record.

Tools and your account

›

What is the SEO package, and what do I get?

You give the title of your video, pick a platform and a language, and you get back a title plus three other title ideas, a description, 10 hashtags, 50 search tags, 15 keywords, 2 thumbnails and a virality score. It costs about 40 credits (US$0.40). You need 60 credits in your account to start, in case it runs long, and you are only charged if it works.

›

What does AI clipping do, and what does it cost?

It takes one long video, finds the best moments, and turns them into short clips in the right shape for each platform you pick, each with captions, your logo, a viral score and its own SEO package. It costs about 65 credits for each clip on each platform, so 3 clips on 2 platforms is about 390 credits. The video can be one you upload, a Dropbox share link, or a link pasted from YouTube, TikTok and other platforms — see the next question for which sites work and what a pasted link costs.

›

Can I paste a YouTube or TikTok link instead of uploading a file?

Right now this is confirmed working with YouTube links. On the clip-creation screen, choose "Paste a link" instead of "Upload from computer" and drop in the URL. You'll need to tick a box confirming you own the video or have the right to use it — that's recorded with the job. The box also takes links from several other platforms, but we haven't confirmed those work yet, so upload the file if one doesn't. Some links can't be fetched at all: a channel or profile page instead of one video, a private, members-only or age-restricted video, a video that's still streaming live, a copy-protected video, or the platform temporarily asking us to prove we're not a robot. Each of those tells you plainly what happened, and uploading the file instead always works as a fallback. A pasted link costs roughly four times as much as uploading a video of the same length, because fetching it costs us too — the quote you see before starting already includes that, so there's no surprise on the bill.

›

What is Quick Edit?

Upload one video you filmed yourself, between 90 seconds and 10 minutes long, and it comes back edited: boring parts cut out, captions, music, punch-in zooms, colour and mastered sound, plus a title, description, hashtags, tags, keywords and two thumbnails. The price is quoted before you start, usually about 320 to 780 credits (US$3.20 to US$7.80), and you are never charged more than that quote.

›

What is the AI Video Editor, and how is it different from Quick Edit?

It is the Premium tool for long videos: up to an hour of raw footage across 10 files, edited into one finished widescreen video with a hook, chapters, zooms, transitions, cinematic colour, music, sound effects and optional AI drone and cinematic shots. Quick Edit takes one file up to 10 minutes and is paid for with credits. The AI Video Editor comes only with the Premium plan (US$499.99 a month), which includes 4 edited videos each month.

›

What do songs cost, and what about sung Rhymes videos?

A Standard song gives you two complete versions for about 27 credits (US$0.27), and you need 30 credits to start one. A Pro song is about 95 credits and needs 100 credits to start. If you make a Rhymes video, the singing adds about 24 credits on top of the video's own price, or about 96 credits in Punjabi, which uses the Pro singer.

›

Which tools do I have to buy something before I can use?

Your free welcome credits can make videos, SEO packages, Standard songs, content plans and hooks. Pro songs, long songs, splitting vocals from music, AI clipping, Series autopilot and Quick Edit stay locked until your first purchase, and any plan or any top-up unlocks all of them. The AI Video Editor is separate again: it needs the Premium plan.

›

How do I delete my account, and what happens to my videos?

Go to Settings, scroll to Delete account, and type DELETE in capital letters. Your plan is cancelled and your account, every video, clip, edited video, song, series, your credit history and your picture are removed straight away, including the video files themselves. It cannot be undone, and any credits you still had go with it.

›

Are my videos private?

Inside Clip Viral, yes: every time a video is opened we check that you are signed in and that the video is yours, so nobody else can reach it through the site. But the finished video files sit in storage at long, random web addresses that will play for anyone who has the exact link, so only share a link you copied out of the app if you mean to.

›

How do I get help from a real person?

Open Help in the menu and press Contact support, or email support@aiclipviral.com directly: a person reads it and replies. That same address is at the bottom of every page, and it is also where you ask to see the information we hold about you or to have your account deleted by hand.

Comparisons and alternatives

›

Is there a free alternative to CapCut, Pictory or InVideo AI?

Yes. Clip Viral's free plan gives 300 credits once your email is confirmed, with no watermark, enough for a couple of 30-second videos. Unlike CapCut, Pictory or InVideo AI, you don't edit anything by hand: give it a topic and it writes, voices and generates the video for you.

›

Does Clip Viral work with YouTube videos directly, the way a clipping tool should?

Yes, through the AI clipping tool: pasting a YouTube link is confirmed working today, cutting the video into shorts with captions, a viral score and an SEO package for each platform you pick. Links from other platforms aren't confirmed to work yet, so uploading the file is the reliable fallback, and a pasted link costs roughly four times what uploading the same length would, since fetching it costs us too.
