Clip Viral (“we”, “us”) is a service, based in New Zealand, that makes short-form videos from topics you choose. This policy explains what information we collect when you use aiclipviral.com, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and, if you provide them, your name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from them. If you upload a profile picture, we store it with your account and show it only to you. If you create a password, we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it, never the password itself.
- What you create. The topics, niches, instructions and settings you choose, and what the service produces for you: scripts, voiceovers, captions, videos, titles, descriptions, tags and hashtags.
- Account activity. Records of the videos and series you create, their progress, your credit balance and a history of what each video cost, so the service works and you can see your history.
- Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, and one small cookie that remembers where you first came from (see below). We do not use advertising cookies, and no cookie of ours identifies you for analytics.
- Visits to the website. We count visits anonymously, to see how many people come, which pages they arrive on and what sent them (such as a search engine or one of our posts). Each visit is recorded with a code made from your connection and your browser that changes every day, so we can count you once a day but can’t recognise you from one day to the next; we never store your IP address or your browser’s full details. A small cookie remembers where you first came from (for example a Facebook post), so we know which of our posts bring people who sign up; it contains no identifier, and if you create an account we keep that note with it. Visit records are kept for up to 13 months.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical details such as IP addresses and the pages requested, which helps us keep the service secure and working.
Payments. When you buy a plan or a top-up, Stripe processes the payment. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID and a record of what you bought and when.
How we use it
- To create your account, sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To make the videos you ask for, including scheduled videos from a Series you set up.
- To post your videos to your own Facebook Page and Instagram account, if you connect them and ask us to.
- To show you your videos, their progress and your credit balance.
- To respond when you contact us, and to fix problems with the service.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information from Google
If you sign in with Google, we ask Google only for your email address, name and profile picture, and we use them only to create and sign in to your Clip Viral account. Signing in does not give us access to your Gmail, Drive or YouTube. We only reach your YouTube channel if you separately connect it (see “YouTube” below). Clip Viral’s use of information received from Google APIs, including YouTube data, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube
Clip Viral uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s Privacy Policy applies to what Google holds about you.
If you connect a YouTube channel, Google asks you to allow two things: to upload videos to the channel, and to read basic information about it. We keep the channel’s name and ID, and a long-lasting access token that Google gives us (stored encrypted). We use them only to upload the videos you choose, or that you set to post automatically, with the title, description and tags we made for them, and to show you which channel is connected. We don’t read your other videos, comments, subscribers, analytics or private data, we never edit or delete anything already on your channel, and we don’t share or sell what we receive from YouTube, or use it for advertising or to train AI models.
You can disconnect a channel at any time under Social accounts. Disconnecting, or deleting your account, deletes the token we hold and tells Google to revoke it. You can also remove Clip Viral’s access yourself in your Google Account’s security settings (“Third-party apps with account access”), at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Videos already on YouTube stay there: they are yours, and only you can remove them.
Facebook and Instagram
If you connect Facebook or Instagram, we keep the access tokens Facebook gives us for your login and for the Page you choose (stored encrypted), the Page’s name, and the username of the Instagram professional account linked to it. We use them only to post the videos you set to post automatically, at the times you choose, with their titles, descriptions and hashtags. We don’t read your messages, your followers or your other posts. You can disconnect at any time under Social accounts, and disconnecting, or deleting your account, deletes the tokens and hands the access back to Facebook, so Clip Viral no longer appears in your Facebook settings.
You can also ask Facebook instead of us. Remove Clip Viral in your Facebook settings, under Settings and privacy › Settings › Apps and websites, and Facebook tells us directly. We then delete the connection and everything waiting to be posted, and show you what was done at aiclipviral.com/meta-deletion with the confirmation code Facebook gives you. Posts already published stay on your Page: they are yours, and only you can remove them.
Our use of information from Facebook and Instagram follows the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
Who helps us provide the service
We use trusted service providers to run Clip Viral. They receive only what they need to do their part:
- Railway hosts the website (United States).
- Supabase stores the database of accounts and videos (Sydney, Australia).
- Amazon Web Services renders and stores finished videos (Sydney, Australia).
- Anthropic writes video scripts from the topic and instructions you give, SEO packages from the video title you give, and song lyrics from the song you describe.
- Microsoft turns script text into the voiceover.
- fal.ai sings the lyrics of Rhyme videos, times their captions to the singing, draws SEO package thumbnails, and makes the songs you create in the Songs tool from your lyrics and style choices.
- Pexels supplies stock footage, found using search words from your script.
- Cloudflare and Google create illustrations from descriptions of each scene.
- Google and Apple provide sign-in, if you choose to use them.
- Google Fonts supplies the website’s fonts, so Google receives your IP address when pages load.
- X and Meta publish Clip Viral’s own posts on our X account, Facebook Page and Instagram account; for those we send them nothing about you or your videos. If you connect your own Facebook Page or Instagram account, Meta receives the videos you choose to post there, with their titles, descriptions and hashtags.
Some of these providers are outside New Zealand. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to New Zealand’s privacy law.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and videos while your account is open. You can delete a video, or your whole account, at any time from your dashboard: deleting your account immediately removes your account details, videos, series, credit history, picture and any Facebook or Instagram connection. If you ask us by email instead, we do the same within 30 days, except for anything we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing support@aiclipviral.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Security
Connections to Clip Viral are encrypted, passwords are stored hashed, and access to our systems is limited. To help with a problem, the owner of Clip Viral can open your dashboard to see what you see; that is recorded, ends by itself after an hour, and can’t make payments, change your password or delete your account. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Clip Viral is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let account holders know by email.
